Data Refresh & Accuracy
MarketQuants relies on real-time feeds for prices (Alpaca) and daily batch processing for rankings (our server).
1. Leaderboard Not Updating
- The Schedule: Our rankings (Composite Score, Diamond Score) are calculated once per trading day at roughly 9:00 PM EST.
- The Prices: The stock prices on the tiles update every 60 seconds during market hours.
- Visual Check: Look at the "Next Update" timer at the top of the Leaderboard. If it says "Updates in 00:00:00," try manually refreshing.
2. Using the "Stripe" to Refresh
If you suspect your data is stale, you don't need to reload the whole app.
- Tap the MarketQuants Logo (the Stripe at the top).
- This forces a "soft refresh" of your portfolio balance and positions without reloading the page.
3. Portfolio Balance Lag
"My stock went up, why didn't my balance move?"
- Snapshot Frequency: We sync with your broker roughly every minute. In extremely fast-moving markets, your broker's app might be a few seconds faster than our display.
- After Hours: After 4:00 PM ET, your balance may stop updating until the next market open, even if stocks are moving in the aftermarket.
4. Missing Tickers
"I can't find XYZ stock."
MarketQuants focuses on the S&P 500 universe.
- If a stock is not in the S&P 500 equivalent universe (large cap, high liquidity), we may not rank it.
- We filter out penny stocks and low-volume assets to protect users from volatility and manipulation.
