Connect Your Brokerage

To unlock the full potential of MarketQuants—including live trading and automated portfolio management—you need to connect your Alpaca brokerage account. We use a secure OAuth connection, so we never see or store your password.

Don't have an Alpaca account? Please read our Account Creation Guide first to set up your account and 2FA.

1. Initiate Connection​

You can start the connection process from two places:

Option A: The Banner​

Click the Connect Now button on the orange banner at the top of the dashboard.

Option B: Account Settings​

Open the user menu and select Account.

2. Alpaca OAuth Card​

You will see the Alpaca OAuth Connection card.

  • Security: Uses standard OAuth (like logging in with Google).
  • Control: Easy to revoke access at any time.

Click the yellow Connect Alpaca Account button.

3. Authorization Notice​

A rigorous security notice will appear.

  • Permissions: Understand that you are granting MarketQuants access to view your account and place trades at your direction.
  • Disclaimer: Review the terms.

Check the box to agree and click Authorize Connection.

4. Allow Access on Alpaca​

You will be redirected to Alpaca's secure login page.

  1. Sign in to your Alpaca account.
  2. Select Accounts: You can authorize both your Live Account and Paper Account (recommended).
  3. Click Allow to grant permissions.

5. Connection Successful​

Once authorized, you will be automatically redirected back to MarketQuants.

A success screen will confirm that your account is now ready for trading.

Connected Status​

In your Account Settings, the card will now show a green Connected status with the expiration date of your token.
