Create Your Alpaca Account

Before you can connect to MarketQuants, you need an account with Alpaca Markets. If you initiate the connection process without being logged in, you will be redirected to the Alpaca Login screen.

1. Sign Up or Login​

If you don't have an account, click Create an account on the login screen.

Enter your details to create your Trading API account.

  • Recommendation: We strongly suggest starting with a Paper Trading (Demo) account.
  • Why?: Paper accounts do not require KYC (Know Your Customer) documents and allow you to practice risk-free. KYC is only required when you are ready to open a Live account.

2. Verify Email​

After signing up, check your inbox for a verification link from Alpaca. You must verify your email to proceed.

3. Security Requirements (2FA)​

Alpaca requires Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) for both Paper and Live accounts to ensure your assets are secure.

Authenticator App​

You must connect an authenticator app. We recommend Google Authenticator:

In your Alpaca Profile Settings -> Security, select Authenticator and follow the prompts to scan the QR code.

Once your account is created and secured, head back to Connecting Broker to link it to MarketQuants.
